Five
Stars! - What HiFi? comparison guide magazine says: "For the
money, this is one of the best and most exciting hi-fi sytems we've
heard."
The M5 speaker is a smaller version of the M12.2 above, but geez
does it sound good! As is often the case with drivers in the 5"
diameter range, the smaller size means lighter weight and less air
to move. For the M5, this translates into midrange that is clear,
fast, and impeccable. Due to less cabinetry and a somewhat smaller
woofer that the M12.2, the amazing quality sound of the M5 is offered
at a very special price most all can afford.
In
designing the M5, the Epos engineering team fully considered both
audiophile sound quality, plus the demands of today’s home theater
systems. It's video sheilded for use close to televisions, and matches
the M8 center channel speaker. The M5 can be used for the front
stereo pair as well as for the surrounds, or used as surrounds for
the Epos M12.2 or M15.2 speakers.

But
when it comes to stereo, there is no compromise. What HiFi? magazine
gave the M5 a perfect 5-star rating for 2-channel sound, and says:
"We
first fell in love with these little stars in May this year [2004],
and the love affair looks set to last. They pretty much have it
all: detail, dynamics, and surefooted timing...the M5's consistantly
deliver bass with good power and balance."
Further,
in What HiFi? July 2004, they matched the M5 with our Cambridge
Audio Azur 640A Integrated Amp & Azur
640C CD Player, put it up against four other systems costing
much more, and announced this system the What HiFi? Group Test 5-Star
Winner, saying:
"This
thrilling kit punches well above its cost, and might topple some
established favourites. ...For the money, this is one of the best
and most exciting hi-fi systems we've heard. ...Spin some 'proper'
rock...the result is addictive. The drums belt along with pace and
authoriity, the guitars snarl and snap, and vocals sound raw and
emotive. ...all musical genres are welcome. The timing and enthusiasm
works well with dynamic classical, and plentiful detail means more
introspective music - such as jazz and closely miked vocals - sound
just fine."
Certainly
this speaks well of the Epos M5. But if you are ready to build or
expand on a system, match them to our Cambridge Azur 640 series
components and you'll have a sensational top-award winning combo
in your home at an amazing bang-for-the-buck price. Call us for
special package pricing!
The
speakers features a furniture grade real wood veneer cabinet, similar
to the M12.2. Like all new M series models, front panels are now
veneered to look attractive with the supplied grills either on or
off.

Music
Hall set out to prove that with attention to detail, good design,
and dedication, fine audio equipment can be made at a reasonable
price. To this end, they chose a select group of technologically
advanced and synergistically matched parts to make the a25.2, and
it's companion CD Player, the Music Hall cd25.2.
The matching t25.2
Tuner is also available.
Critically
acclaimed sound quality with an exceptionally fine & silky midrange,
plus outstanding build quality at its price. The Music Hall 25.2
series components look absolutely gorgeous! With their brushed aluminum
faceplates a full 12mm thick, and beautiful blue dimmable digital
display surrounded by a machined accent ring, they easily appear
at home in a class three times their price. The very thick faceplate
also improves sound quality by greatly damping vibration in the
unit.
While
it's 50 watts per channel may seem moderate, lighter wattage amps
often have purer sounding output, and it truly delivers it all without
slumping, even into high-current loads, due in part to its massive
power supply. It really performs like an amp of at least 80 watts.
Cost on savings have gone into higher quality parts and componentry,
such as the oversized transformer that delivers real depth. Any
moderately efficient speaker can easily be played louder than is
tolerable, without distortion.
